... ah screw it. I'll say it anyway. By now you would have already read it.
In the manga, it said that Yuui (the Fai we know) changed one of Sakura's feathers so that it had his mother's image; it was then used to watch over his dead brother and keep his body from decaying.
That image happened to be Chi. Freaking. CHI.
Here's the thing: if Chi looked like Fai and Yuui's mom, then - according to the CLAMPverse - that would mean that Fai and Yuui's mom WAS Chi. If that is so, then who was their DAD??
All the arrows point at Hideki~!
And yes, I totally love that CLAMP made Chii a replica of Fay's mother. ^^
It could be that Chii and Hideki were Fay's parents, but I don't know... as much as I love that idea, I don't think it fits somehow (Fay is *nothing* like Hideki). Another possibility is that Fay's mother was Chii's twin sister and his dad, another random blondie from Valeria. The last, is that Fay made Chii to just resemble his mother, in the same way that Minoru from Chobits made Yuzuki to resemble his dead sister, Kaede.
As always with CLAMP, it's never simple!
Maybe Chi was supposed to marry the prince (it said that the prince's brother was the king), but Freya took her place so that Chi could be with Hideki. Either that, or Freya was supposed to marry the prince in the first place.
... Dangit, CLAMP!
